How the TAIPA Application Process Works

Only minimum limits are available through TAIPA, which are currently 30/60/25 ($30,000 for each injured person, up to a total of $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage per accident). Physical damage coverage is not available.

Certified agents (producers) submit Private Passenger or Commercial/Public applications for their applicants using the EASi website. The producer then mails the completed, signed application to TAIPA within one business day, along with the down payment. TAIPA processes the application, then assigns it to a company. TAIPA mails the application and down payment to the assigned company. The company will handle everything related to the policy from that point, including policy issuance, billing and payments, renewals, commissions, etc.

How to Apply

If you wish to apply for insurance through TAIPA, please see an insurance agent to have them complete an application for you. Please be aware that TAIPA eligibility requirements state that you must have been rejected for insurance by two companies within the last 60 days.

To talk to an agent about a TAIPA application, ask if they are already certified through TAIPA. If they are not, they can choose to become certified in order to complete your application.
